Welcome to the website of the European Climate Assessment & Dataset project. Presented is information on changes in weather and climate extremes, as well as the daily dataset needed to monitor and analyse these extremes. ECA&D was initiated by the ECSN in 1998 and has received financial support from the EUMETNET and the European Commission.

The database is updated until: Oct 31, 2018.

May 2018 - New temperature series from 211 stations included for Lombardia (Italy), kindly provided by the ARPA Lombardia.

April 2018 - State of the European climate report for March 2018 has been released as part of the Copernicus service C3S_311a_Lot4.

April 2018 - All series from Germany (kindly provided by National Climate Data Center (DWD)) have been re-included due to a change in data delivery. Series can be changed and new series and stations have been added.

April 2018 - Updates for 2016 have been included for the UK (kindly provided by National Climate Information Centre).

April 2018 - Updates until the end of 2017 have been included for Spain kindly provided by Aemet.

April 2018 - E-OBS v17.0 has been released.

March 2018 - Updates for July - December 2017 kindly provided by the Meteorological Service of Catalonia.

March 2018 - Updates until the end of 2015 of 24 stations for Cloud Cover and of 27 stations for daily maximum windgust are kindly provided by the Estonian Environmental Agency.

ECA&D forms the backbone of the climate data node in the Regional Climate Centre (RCC) for WMO Region VI (Europe and the Middle East) since 2010. The data and information products contribute to the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS).
